Hello to all my Stony Port blog followers and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you have had a fantastic new year and enjoyed the festive season (I for one, LOVE Christmas). So, with the new year arising comes a whole new level and index of ideas, styles and genres of interior design which are coming in with a booming statement already in this 2024. But do you always want to follow the trend? Sometimes, trends are made to be incorporated into your homes rather than directly followed! This is because most styles are very generic, which means that if you want to stay original and true to what you like and what you thrive on within your home, you can’t just change at the click of a button! This, however, doesn’t stop you from adding subtle changes to your home to keep up with the styles and the new trends.
Styles and Trends
Although it’s nice being able to keep up directly with these styles and trends, it is not always possible! I mean, it’s only just the start of 2025, and we’re not even a month in yet, and there are already so many! It’s like the new year comes in and the old year gets kicked straight out! So, with ideas and trends progressing so quickly already, just imagine what is to come in the new year – there are the spring trends, summer trends, all sorts! So, with 2025 coming so quickly, let’s get straight to it!
Main trends of 2025
Some of the main trends which have already somehow taken over the start of our 2025 include factors from colours to accessories to even shapes and places within your home which are going to make a statement. The main colour which everyone seems to be talking about is the 2025 Pantone colour of the year, “Greenery”. It is believed to represent a bright and refreshing start with a revitalisation at the start of 2025, along with this, butterflies are also another part of 2025, which are flying in! From butterfly wallpaper to butterfly accessories – there are so many beautiful designs, and we just can’t seem to get enough of them! Mixed patterns, Terracotta (with its warm, rich and rustic qualities) and neon are also a few colourful and patterning trends which 2025 has taken a liking to.
In addition to this, there are also a few other accessory-based trends such as:
- Upholstered headboards for a more texturized and colourful approach to your bedroom
-
Plantation
Everywhere! It’s taking over! A massive number of people are loving this green vibe, and it doesn’t just stop at the plants themselves! The art of 2025 seems to be close-up plantation pics! From green rainforest leaves to an image of a fig plant – people are loving it!
-
Mason Jars
For a while now, we have loved mason jars, and it seems like this trend is still ongoing! Mason jars are being used as an alternative for all sorts of accessories within the home, such as cups, toothbrush holders, etc. Time to get your DIY head on!

Brass is the new copper
2025 was full of rose gold coppery effects and colours, but to much of our dismay, this shall be no longer.BBrassis the new copper! And the rose gold and copper trend is soon to be out the window!
So, as you can see, a lot of these new trends are all about accessorising and adding features within your home to be revitalised and happy this 2025. So, maybe don’t change completely, but incorporate some of these wonderful styles into your home? Perhaps change that old, outdated painting in the kitchen to a trio of leafy goodness? Fill that space on the empty shelf with a beautiful butterfly ornament? It’s up to you!
These 2025 styles are gorgeous, so why not make the most of them?
